From Home to the Field: The First Three (and a half) Months of Kestrel Sports

Just over three and a half months ago, Kestrel Sports was little more than an idea, a shared passion, and a small workspace at home. Today, we’re proud to say we’ve been trading for three and a half months — a short time on paper, but a huge milestone for us as a start-up.

Like many new businesses, Kestrel Sports was born from a simple question: why not build something better? We saw an opportunity to create high-quality sports products and services with care, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of grassroots sport and teams. Starting from home allowed us to focus on what mattered most — getting things right from day one.

 

Building from the Ground Up

Running a business from home has been both challenging and rewarding. Our “office” has doubled as a sleeping space, a packing station, and a creative hub. Every order packed, every email answered, and every decision made has been handled personally. That hands-on approach has shaped who we are as a brand.

In these first three and a half months, we’ve learned quickly. We’ve refined our processes, listened closely to feedback, and adapted as we’ve grown. Being small has been our strength — it’s allowed us to stay flexible, responsive, and deeply connected to our customers.

 

Driven by Passion for Sport

At the heart of Kestrel Sports is a genuine love for sport and in particular grassroots sport. We understand the importance of quality, reliability, and trust — whether you’re training, competing, or supporting a team. That understanding drives everything we do, from sourcing and design to customer service.

We’re not interested in cutting corners. Even as a young business, our goal has always been to deliver products and experiences we’d be proud to use ourselves. Every order represents someone choosing to support a new, independent brand, and we don’t take that lightly.

 

Early Support Means Everything

One of the most rewarding parts of our first three and a half months has been the support we’ve received. From our very first customers to those who’ve recommended us to friends or shared kind words online — your belief in Kestrel Sports has helped us grow faster and stronger than we imagined.

Starting a business from home requires faith — in the idea, in the process, and in the people who choose to support you. Every message, review, and repeat order reminds us why we started.

 

Looking Ahead

While we’re proud of how far we’ve come in three and a half months, this is only the beginning. We have big plans for Kestrel Sports, including expanding our range, improving our systems, and continuing to grow in a sustainable, thoughtful way.  The launch of this website is a big moment for us and one that we hope will help us to grow further.

No matter how much we grow, our roots will always matter. The lessons learned at home — working hard, staying humble, and putting customers first — will remain central to who we are.
